Ahh, the feels…

Here’s mine:

“I beg to differ.”

She beamed me a breathtaking smile, equal parts adorably cute and wickedly evil. Lethal combination. “I love it when you beg.”

I had every intention of engaging in our usual quick draw banter. However, it simply wasn’t going to happen. Not anytime soon anyway. I tried to swallow the lump in my throat. Twice. It wouldn’t budge. Shit, I couldn’t even see straight anymore.

“Don’t you dare get emotional, jerk. You’ll make me cry.”

“Don’t you dare cry, woman,” I growled back. “You’ll make me lose my mind.”

  1. Here’s mine from Four . . .

Not caring whether she liked being touched or not, Jack stood and knelt beside her chair, pulling her into his arms. Laura stiffened instinctively, then gave a small sob and sunk down against him. Pressing her face into his chest she cried, her tears soaked through his shirt, but Jack didn’t care, he just tightened his grip on her, stroking his hand up and down her back, attempting to calm her. When her tears finally dried up Laura made no attempt to move out of his embrace, so Jack simply continued to hold her.

  2. As she pulled into her driveway, her face still wet, she knew she would never do anything so reckless like that again. Staying away from Ben was her number one priority from now on. No matter how difficult it would be.
She went through the motions of getting ready for bed, barely registering what she was doing. Curling under the soft, plush blankets, she pulled a pillow closer as she conjured a picture of Ben. She closed her eyes and replayed every moment he held her in his arms. The tears came back as a part of herself died inside.
