The best friend

Here’s mine:

“You want to know what I’d do if I were you?”

Gotta love rhetorical questions.

“I’d break into Cale’s fancy penthouse, tie him down, chuck his wheelchair over the balcony, and do naughty things to him until he took me back.”

“That’s beyond disturbing,” Mickey wrinkled her nose, “and why, pray tell, would you chuck his chair?”

“Well, duh. So he can’t escape.”

“Isn’t that why you tied him down?”

“No. I was just being kinky with the ropes.”

  1. “Come on, Meredith, where is that tough gal personality of yours?” Elle teased her.

“I am a tough gal as you put it. I still am not going to drink a bottle of hot sauce.”

“Wimp! Wimp! Wimp!” the four women chanted in unison.

Meredith stormed into the kitchen and retrieved the offending bottle of hot sauce. Taking the cap off, she tilted it up and began to drink. Gasping and sputtering, she raced to the sink. With the cold water running, she turned her head sideways and let the cold water run into her mouth. Pulling her mouth out from under the faucet, she gasped and fanned her mouth with her hand. The sounds coming out of her mouth had the other women rolling with laughter.

  2. Jourdan talking to her best friend Nicole.

“Oh sounds kinky. Wait, were toys involved? I’ve been telling you that you should get into sex toys.”
“I’m not going to talk to you about what goes on in my bedroom.” Or in my dining room. My bathroom. Or on my balcony with the lights turned down low.
“Okay – just answer me this. Did you have a good time? …. Never mind, don’t answer that. That dazed look on your face says it all.”

  3. From One Taste of You…

    “Mark dumped me.”
“That low-down, dirty douchebag.” Dee pursed her lips as she shook her head. “What’s with the dress? You never wear things like this.”
“He said I had no sex appeal. I sleep with him one time, and he says I have no sex appeal. That man just totally checked me out. He did, didn’t he?” Zoe pointed nonchalantly toward the man sitting at the bar that had walked past them.
Rina nodded. “You’re gorgeous. Why wouldn’t he? I’m sorry about Mark.”
“Forget that douche. I told you from the beginning he was one.” Dee raised her hand to flag down a server.

  4. From Lives Collide – out in February

We enter the bathroom, and Tina looks around to see if it’s empty.

“What’s up with you? Did you meet a cute guy?” I say, full of curiosity and excitement for her.

“Don’t try to deter the subject.”

I play dumb. “What are you talking about? I thought that’s why you’re so peppy.”

She cocks her hip and points out the door. “There’s so much electricity sparking between you and James I’m surprised the lights aren’t flickering. How can you stand there and say there’s nothing going on between you two?”

“I won’t deny it, because I truly feel what you see. However, nothing will come of it. He has some dark secrets, and he wants nothing to do with relationships, just like me. I need to ignore the chemistry and just be friends. Simple as that.”

“Something tells me it won’t be so easy. I’m not going to push you. If you can’t or won’t do anything about it, at least enjoy it tonight.”
